Responsible gambling
Betting is not income, investment or a solution to debt. Set a fixed entertainment budget before any transaction and never borrow to gamble. Stop when betting affects housing, food, work, relationships or sleep.
Use deposit limits, time limits and self-exclusion where available. Do not chase a loss or trust a guaranteed-win claim. Keep passwords, account codes and Mobile Money credentials private.
Warning signs include hiding spending, selling possessions, borrowing, missing responsibilities or trying to recover debt with another bet. If this happens, block access, restrict payment methods, speak with a trusted person and seek qualified local health or financial support.
For a suspected scam, preserve the domain, messages and payment records without sending more money. Verify help channels directly rather than using a phone number supplied by the operator or agent causing concern.
Set three limits before opening the cashier
Write down a maximum entertainment amount, a maximum session length and a maximum number of deposits. The money must remain separate from housing, food, transport, healthcare and debt payments. A bonus, “safe” accumulator or short-lived price does not justify changing a limit during the session.
Afterwards, compare actual spending and time with the written plan. Stop payments if you hid a loss, borrowed, used essential money or deposited only to recover an earlier bet. Repeated checking of the balance, difficulty sleeping and irritability after a result are also reasons to take a break.
Make a pause harder to reverse
Use self-exclusion and account limits where they are available, remove the apps and restrict the payment methods used for betting. Tell a trusted person what period you intend to stop for. Do not replace one operator with another during the exclusion period; the purpose is to interrupt the behaviour, not move it.
If you cannot stop, seek qualified health or financial support in your area. Immediate distress or risk to your safety requires urgent professional or emergency help. Self-exclusion is a protection measure, not a failure, and no unpaid balance is worth risking essential needs or personal safety.
