Cameroon gambling law

The currently verified official source confirms that Law No. 2015/012 of 16 July 2015 is titled as the law establishing the regime for entertainment, gambling and games of chance. The Presidency’s official bulletin records its promulgation. That bulletin is not the law’s full text, so Cameroon Odds does not attribute unseen articles to it.

The official Decree No. 2019/2300/PM, published by the Prime Minister’s Office, sets out implementation rules for that law. It is the usable primary source for the provisions quoted on this site.

What the decree lets a reader verify

The decree separates concession, authorisation and declaration regimes, describes promoter obligations and provides for administrative control. Article 16 says that people who have not reached civil majority may not participate in casinos, betting or public lotteries.

A familiar brand, accessible app or XAF cashier does not by itself establish that an exact domain is authorised. A reproducible check records:

1. the company operating the service and its trading name;
2. the claimed authority, number, activity and validity;
3. the final domain after redirects;
4. currency, beneficiary and KYC conditions;
5. an institutional source connecting those elements.

An earlier version of this page incorrectly labelled a Presidency PDF as the text of Law No. 2015/012. The linked document was actually Law No. 2016/007, the Penal Code.
